“There may be nothing in it, but it eases our jolts wonderfully” -Samuel Johnson’esque Quote

When shopping for a new Electric Scooter the choice always comes up: Inflatable, or solid tires…

The difference? Well, as the Title quote alludes to, air is a cushion, an inflatable tire really will give you a smoother ride since the air core construction allows an inflatable tire to absorb many of the small bumps and jolts you will experience on your scooter trip and life in general.

What is the argument for a solid tire then? Well, the fact that they are puncture resistant of course!
A solid scooter tire gives you the ability to ride free of fear when traversing potentially scary, sharp terrain. These tires are incredible! The trade-off of course is that they do not absorb the shock of rapid terrain changes as well as an inflatable tire.

Which is best?

Well, like many things in life, it is a trade off…

If you plan on using your chair-seat scooter mostly around the home and for shopping, an inflatable tire can give you a smoother and more comfortable ride.

If you plan on traversing dangerous and sharp terrain a puncture resistant tire may be better. Knowing what you want from your scooter (and life in general) is a great advantage! This is a classic example of safety versus comfort! Shop and plan for the life you wish to lead!
