If you are buying a new lift chair you should think about looking closely at the measurements of the chairs before you buy. An easy way to get a feel for what size may be right for you would be to break out the ol’ tape-measure and get some measurements from your current non-lift chair or recliner at home. Two of the most important ones would be the length of the back (measure from the bottom of the seat to the top of the backrest). The other important measurement should be the width of the chair between the armrests. Most website ads for lift chairs will have an information page for each particular model write down the measurements and compare them with your old chair. Here is an example of a Small, extra-wide lift chair you will notice that under “Specifications” it is many measurements you can make on your old recliner at home to compare with. Most lift chair sites will have a similar specifications section for each model they carry.
Happy Reclining!
