For folks who are just looking for a little easier time standing up, a very low cost option could be a simple device called a “Furniture riser”, these risers look like an upside down cone/furniture coaster. What they do though is allow your old chair to be raised between 2″-5″ higher off the ground depending on the risers purchased. These 2″+ inches can make a large difference on the difficulty or ease a person has getting to a standing position. For just a $15-$30 outlay they are definitely worth thinking about!
