“Beware of little expenses. A small leak will sink a great ship”

Benjamin Franklin

If you have watched the news coming out of New York City or Columbus Ohio lately you will have seen that a bogeyman of childhood nursery rhymes, the bed bug, has made a spectacular reemergence lately. How does this affect a person buying a heavy duty/bariatric or regular lift chair? Well if you are shopping on a budget make sure to be careful when contemplating a used recliner! One of the most foolhardy ways folks introduce bed bugs into their homes is through the purchase of a used piece of furniture or bedding that has unwittingly been infected by bed bugs. Just one bug hitching a ride on a used item brought into your home could cause a huge headache (and expense!) for a person trying to save money. A typical round of extermination service to eliminate a bedbug infestation could easily run into the $500-$3000 range! Make sure to keep this in mind when debating purchasing a “bargain” used lift chair!
